Wilson is a nasty little spiv, but nasty little spivs can be very good at persuading the elderly... one such person got hold of my post-stroke great-aunt and took her for everything she had.

Easy for him, he was her doctor... bought her red roses, told her he loved her (he was gay and about 50) and in general brightened up her life. I look upon men who go a-wooing amongst elderly women as a special kind of swindler. He died of AIDS soon after he inherited so his brother did well!

Appalling exploitation. & yes a really despicable act targeting older women.

Yes Karma has a way. Though one does not personally wish. I am the only female born to parents. I recall a wonderful great aunt - the butt of jokes by my siblings as an 'Old Maid'. So much that they would always try to guarantee I got that exact card when playing Swap. My father was not a misogynist

I was outraged when beloved GA aged 70 who cared for both of her parents came home after her father's death to find locks changed - day of funeral. The nephew (abandoned) whom she had raised alongside her **father did it. & more - he had a will redrawn a month before *died*. She left in dignity.

This was in 1973- the will today would not pass the pub test. My maternal grandfather widower (married to GA sister/my grandma & like *daughter* was executor- he wanted to contest it as it had been known GA had lifetime residency in the home. MY GA refused & got on with her life.

I loved & admired her for her comfort in the loss of my grandma & for her strength. But nonetheless her eviction infuriated me. I am in process of detecting the paternity of her father (my Great grandfather) something she hoped for. It will progress with DNA to be taken by a male *grandson* now 80.
