I managed just fine on my own without marrying. It’s not a sentence. It’s a choice. And if the population declines, that would be fine too. The planet would be grateful.

Well, everyone is different and there will always be exceptions, but statistically people who get a job, marry and raise a family are happier in general with their lives.
