I blame guns for gun violence. I also tend to blame viruses for viral diseases and tornados for tornado destruction, but I guess that just makes me an idiot.
I blame guns for gun violence. I also tend to blame viruses for viral diseases and tornados for tornado destruction, but I guess that just makes me an idiot.
I guess I could say the same. 🤷♂️
Guns don't kill people; people kill people. Viruses don't kill people; vaccines kill people. Tornadoes don't kill people; God's hatred for gays and atheists kills people. /s
How woke of us 😅
Guns are not 100% at fault. I have guns for hunting, sport and self-protection. None of my guns, not one of my guns have shot anyone. I can even go as far as to say, none of my guns have never shot anything, that I did not aim, pull the trigger and force it to shoot. It stops shooting when I stop.
Only idiots would think anyone thinks guns shoot themselves.
And only idiots think that guns are violent. I just checked on all my guns in my safe and they are peacefully waiting for me to load and take them hunting or to the range.
Thanks for proving my point…
And you use a bad guy as your gif. 🤣🤌🏻 perfect.
Not sure if you know, that is from a movie. He does not really exist....you know as a.......... "Bad Guy". Do you use drugs?
Oh ffs
My cousin went to a good rehab in Texas for his drug use. I can send you the information.
Thank you for mansplaining to me how a gun works.
No problem, sadly there are A LOT of people out there who think there is gun violence problem. My guns are not violent, I just checked, and they are peacefully waiting for me to take them hunting. A crazy person can create violence with them. Like running over a person with car.
You're a moron.
I would rather be a moron than be very ignorant....High Five!
The telling part of your post there is “guns for protection”. Why do you need guns for protection, if there’s not a gun problem? Or rather, there’s a “people having guns problem”… Well done for not murdering anyone so far, but that’s a fairly low bar….
You have never been robbed with your wife, have you? You never have crossed paths with a mountain lion with your kids camping, have you? WELL DONE for not understanding that that guns are not the only dangerous things on this earth.
Have I ever been robbed? Yeah, once. But I live in a country where no-one wanders around with gun, so they didn’t have one either. See how it works? If no-one has a gun, no-one needs one. And then you end up with a vastly lower murder rate.
UK has a significant issue with stabbing violence, particularly involving youths. Knife-related offenses in England and Wales have surged by 87% over the last decade, with over 54,000 incidents recorded in the last year and a continuing increase in 2025. You need a gun.
“The US murder rate is significantly higher than the UK's, with the US homicide rate in 2023 at approximately 5.76 per 100,000 people compared to England and Wales' rate of about 0.95 per 100,000 people in early 2024”…. So, no. I, nor any of my countrymen that aren’t armed forces or police need one
You still do not get it, I will not be one of those 5.76 per 100k people, because............I have guns. As for you, there is a much higher chance that you will be one of the 0.95 per 100k because you don't. God Bless America, Texas and the constitution, now and pass the ammunition.
Of course, the most common gun death is you use it on yourself.
Unlike the British, we know how to handle our guns.
Nope, you are 6 times MORE likely to be one of those people. This is how statistics work. Especially if the person who is robbing you has a gun, and thinks you may be going for one yourself… you’re dead. In the UK what happens is… you lose your phone and wallet. Bad, but less so.
Apparently, you have never met a Texan with a gun and knows how to use it, have you. That is how it works. That is why the world always looks to the United States for security.
In sane places you don’t need guns to stop robbers. In sane places you don’t have the crime rate the US has. We have wild animals too. And do you know how most people get killed? Cows!
That is great you have nice robbers to stop. "We", what do you mean by we? You raise livestock too, what type of cattle do you have? Which is your preferred salt lick?
What stops you taking aim at kids at a school? What if that barrier is somehow removed.... what then? Granted you may argue the risk is small, I'd counter argue the price is too high to accept any risk. Up till 13.03.1996 43 year old Thomas Hamilton had never shot anyone either.
What stops you from getting in your car and running over kids in a school zone as they walk home? What if that barrier is somehow removed....what then? The risk is small, right? Your answer to my question is the same answer I give you on your question. So where do we go from here?
If we put aside the requirement of a driving liscence yes I could take my car down the road and try to plough through kids. But there's infrastructure in the way, i get one shot at and my car moves slower than a bullet so easier to spot and avoid. Where do you go? remove firearms from everyone.
Easier to spot and avoid! Really?????? I would love to hear you explain that to the families of the 14 killed by one "easily to spot" Ford Truck this last News Years eve in New Orleans. Sorry, Mike, I cannot take you serious after that post. I feel bad for just laugh at your post.
You asked about my kids' local school so I gave an answer relevant to that. If you want to move to large festivals,my city puts up barriers to protect pedestrians. Cars can be lethal but less effective than guns at targeting kids in school Laugh away, just let the grown ups take over for a bit.
Are you saying that young school kids in school zones are quicker on their feet and have better situational automotive awareness than adults? That was EPIC, say something like this again!!!!! I think I need to follow you. You are funny!
Maybe you're right! www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-Ov...
In Scotland young children have teachers, parents and infrastructure to help keep them safe from traffic. Not sure how you think we operate over here, bairns aren't ejected onto the street at 3pm in a real life Frogger situation. Anyway we're not going to agree and you have nothing original, sorry 👋
Apparently in Scotland the point went right over your head. It has nothing to do with traffic.
I don’t blame the gun I blame the irresponsible gun lobbyists who have created a scenario where anyone can use credit cards to buy assault rifles and semi-automatics that can kill dozens of people in a number of minutes. These weapons existing doesn’t bother me, the ease of access does.
You don't think there should be any responsibility of the actual shooter? Or why he shot up a church full of children? Interesting!
Guns get stolen all the time.
Do stolen guns shoot on their own? I never have stolen a gun, nor have I seen a stolen gun in person, but I assume they work just like non-stolen guns.
Does the rest of the civilized world have anywhere near our INSANE level of gun violence?
My niece was killed by a gun stolen from someone who considered himself "a good guy with a gun." His gun was used to murder a beautiful 20 year old woman. Plans backfire.
Yeah, because someone stole their gun. Like, that's not their fault
Instead of using the lens "to whom should we assign the blame", try asking "how could we prevent the harm?" It doesn't matter whether we consider the original gun owner to be directly to blame. The fact is, if the gun wasn't there to be stolen, that particular shooting could have been prevented.
Doug, Now do this ↓↓↓↓↓ with drunk drivers that kill on averaged of about 37 people a day in the US.
Yeah, but I do not think we can take guns away from people who did nothing wrong. If someone is a good, upstanding member of society and their gun is stolen, then they are a victim. We can't have no guns. We have to fight fascism.
In places that have successfully prevented the mass gun violence we see in the U.S.A., they didn't achieve it by taking guns away forcefully. Usually combination of voluntary buy-backs to reduce excess supply, and stronger regs making them harder to buy, requiring safer storage, more training, etc.
How do they enforce the storage piece of it? Keeping a gun in a safe also means you can't grab it without wasting time on the safe
A lot of gun owners fantasize that the guns in their homes will one day be used to heroically stop a home invader. Statistically, a gun in the home is *vastly* more likely to be used on a family member — a child playing and misfiring it, a suicide, domestic violence. Harder to get at is *good*.
That's just bullshit that affects normal people. We are not normal people. Also, we have received credible threats from an actual militia just for being Jewish and my 3 kids under 6 have to do Nazi drills. We're leaving out the gun. If they come here they will die here
Exactly! Yeah I get the whole your rights aspect but I think can all about that there are simply too many guns physically available in this country. To many ways, legal or illegal, to obtain one. Where there is endless bounty one need not plant.
I do agree with this view. The photos of people with like 500 of them, I mean also, that's just wasteful.
Yes exactly, and beyond that just the shear number guns available, from large collections changing hands to just the general number of people with firearms not to mention criminal enterprises with stockpiles, makes getting a gun for anyone who wants one a relatively trivial thing to do.
Right, absolutely we should shut all that shit down. We do not have to tell the little guy where to store his gun. We can make suggestions, that makes sense. People ought not assume they understand what another person's life is like. Violent self defense is justified.
How sure are you that your guns won't get stolen? What happens to them when you die! How sure are you that your guns will never be near a troubled fifteen year old ever as long as they exist?
The only way my guns can get stolen, is if they know the combination to my gun cabinet safe or they can easily carry that 500lb safe up the stairs. If I die, my family will just add them to their collection in their safes. Not sure if a troubled drunk teen will steal my truck and run over people.
Do you support not allowing a person with a history of driving drunk from continuing to have a license? Why is it we can accept training, licensing, and insurance as requirements to operate a motor vehicle, and ways to lose the privilege, but not similar requirements to own and operate a firearm?
My cousin's dumbass boyfriend cannot own a firearm (thank God), and he is an adult. Maybe do a little research then we can continue this discussion.
For my part, I am a veteran with a small arms expert marksman award, have gone through LEO training to be bonded to carry for private security, and own guns for hunting. I had no problem having to take training and be licensed to carry. Seemed reasonable to me.
Sure, felons can't own guns, and in some states a domestic assault conviction or restraining order will disqualify you, and some states have red flag laws that only work if someone is flagged. Then you have courts saying those are unreasonable restrictions and some states prohibiting restrictions.
So, we agree there are prohibiting restrictions for guns, like we do for driver licenses. No matter how difficult you make it, people will find a way around the rules. I may or may not have had a fake ID/license when I was younger (it was expensive). I cannot confirm or deny it.
There are a few restrictions, but not universal, like we have for drivers licenses. I just find it ludicrous that an employer can demand to review my social media to ensure I'm not a liability, but we only check for felony convictions in order to buy a semi-automatic rifle w/ high capacity magazine.
What? Tell your employer where to go and how to get there. You can do that, I would. I think you're mixing laws and hiring business practices here. Not saying it is a bad idea, assume they get the right social media account. Write to your congressman.
Who are you protecting yourself from and why? Why do you need more than say a couple of guns?
Good question: See link below for #1. #2, different guns have different purposes. For example, mini vans are to move families, Trucks are used to move hay and horses, sports cars are used for hot dates and driving fast. Mail trucks are used to..............deliver mail. bsky.app/profile/losh...
Oh I forgot. US cars are shit so you need spares!
Or you just use a Landrover defender which can go fast (sub 6 second 0-60) and tow a trailer for your horses and carry 7 people. (Or you get the Octa which has a 0-60 of 3.8 secs). You don’t need a bunch of different cars. We don’t really do trucks.
Guys, you're wasting your time. This guy has some gun utopia fantasy that he's fine sacrificing living, breathing children for. Nothing you say is going to change his mind.
Yeah but trolling him is hilarious!
Yeah @bizthenavigator.bsky.social , trolling me is VERY hilarious. Geez. Just because I don't agree with you 100% does not mean that we cannot have a conversation. Oh, don't forget your ANGRY WHITE LIBERAL FEMALE support group meeting is an hour earlier tomorrow. So don't be late.
Oof. I think I hurt his feelings.
Did you just gender me? HIS? How dare you! Just kidding, I’m gender blind anyways, it is my cross to bear.
All I need is my F-350 dually diesel truck and life is good.
My Landrover is diesel too!
Land Rover's diesel engines vary by model and year but commonly include a 3.0-liter V6 engine. Now that is just so cute!!! Whoa, a 3.0 liter. Looks like someone is wearing their big boy pants now.
I bet you would be horrified that the hybrid range rover with a smaller engine out performs your truck in every way!
Yeah we don’t need anything bigger because we don’t build over weight vehicles with asthmatic engjnes! Capacity just means it costs you more.
The Landrover Defender Octa is 635HP. The biggest turbo diesel available in the 2025 F350 (6.7 liter tein turbo) is an “amazing” 500HP.
An F350? Poor you!
Well, there mi vaquerito, when you are raising livestock a Land Rover just cannot do it. You need horsepower, muscle, not some foreign piece of garbage with sexy trim and looks better parked at the Victory Secret than covered in mud delivering hay. How is the hilarious trolling going?
Oh and I literally pointed out how the Defender Octa has MORE horse power than your Super Doody!
Also is the Victoria Secret phrase supposed to be insulting. Some of my underwear comes from there. Yes you should have said “mi vaquerita” Menso Americano!
Fine. You keep coming back with hilariously bad takes. Firstly a Landrover isn’t foreign. Because I live in the UK. You know what a foreign piece of garbage which doesn’t fit on our roads is, a Ford F350 Super Doody. And secondly the farmers here use Landrovers and carry livestock.
That reminds me, how did that torque and towing capacity comparison go? I have heard "things" across the pond are a lot smaller over there!
The issue is two-fold. We routinely ignore and marginalize people with severe mental health issues but it is also way to easy for these people to get their hands on a gun, legally or illegally. Only way to fix it is to reduce how many guns are in the wild AND actually start caring for mental illness
Reducing guns will not help. We try to reduce illegal drugs, yet they are everywhere especially in South Texas. I do agree with the severe mental issue. The big trend fact that no one talks about are these soft targets that shooters are picking (schools and churches).
Also yes the targets are soft but what's the solution to that? Maybe security everywhere? Body armor and weapons for everyone all the time? Sounds like a no go tbh. Not sure how you would address soft targets existing tbh.
Protect schools and churches like we protect airports, banks, and federal buildings. If you wanted to kill as many people as you could, airports have wide open areas and have no places to hide besides benches and ticket counters. Why no shootings?
Except that manufacturing drugs is far easier to do than guns. You're correct that the entry of guns into the country is difficult to stop but there are tons of guns that people legally own normally distributed in the US that can be removed from circulation with the right policies.
Remember the goal isn't 0 guns, just less guns. And unlike drugs most people who want guns for things like recreation or collecting or some other use case, aren't going to generally make a huge demand for illegal weapons in response to lowered availability. Drug demand tends to induce a supply.
No, merely illogical.
Whales cause gun violence, whales are assholes, whales should be held responsible.
Well the only Whale i can blame for many other things, is the claiming to be one commander in chief and acting as a DickTater instead
Tornados don't kill people. People who predict tornados kill people. If no one said it's a tornado, there'd be no tornado. - GOP logic
