They’re consulting on more 20mph limits in Cambridge, and my goodness, ‘motorists’ have a lot to say about how fast the average ‘cyclist’ can pedal. I say ‘ … ‘ because aren’t most of us, at some point, pedestrians, cyclists, *and* users of public and private motorised transport?

The Highway Code applies to all road users, not just motor vehicles. All cyclists, some of whom are probably also car drivers, should know that!

The interesting thing about the Cambridge proposal is that it's about the main A roads that go through Cambridge, not residential side streets, most of which are already 20mph.

If you propose LTNs as a way of making neighbourhoods safer people will respond "but people live on the main roads too", yet when you propose 20mph limits to reduce road danger, the same people tend to respond "but not on main roads!"
