They wouldn't continue to do frequent IV infusions (as some doctors have suggested they are doing) via a regular site like a hand, especially at his age. They would want to put a port in
I’ve been thinking they probably should do a port too. Much less painful than needles in one’s hands.
Not pain, the more they try to get into the same veins, the greater risk of collapsing them. I didn't have good ones ever, but medical testing over the years has collapsed most of the ones that were ok. When I used IV drugs I mostly used the ones in my 🦶🏻 they roll badly but don't collapse as easily.
Quest has turned me away 4 times recently because they can't find a vein after 10-12 sticks. They keep trying to tell me to drink more water, which is code for "we think you're hypovolemic." I'm floating when I go in, I don't know how much more water they think I could drink.
