In another raid in Huntington Beach one of these goons was wearing a bounty hunter company badge bsky.app/profile/jenn...
Probably fake too. They never show warrants either.
The Huntington Beach incident took place on April 29th, and the video available appears to capture a few seconds of a minutes-long legitimate and lawful effort to apprehend an actual fugitive from justice.
The incident that the badge was seen at they walked away empty handed after wrecking the house.
This is the post and video I’ve been referencing: bsky.app/profile/iwil...
Bounty hunters working for ICE/CBP are MASKED by design so they can’t be ID’d and hauled into court to answer for their conduct. They’re not looking for specific people in private homes : they’re grabbing people at random off the street and wherever they congregate because the $$ is in body counts.
They're not looking for specific people in private homes because they'll get shot if they do.
Doing so also serves their second order priority: it frightens some among the class of people they are targeting into leaving the country voluntarily at no expense to the U.S. government. Trump is a notorious cheapskate.
Incorrect: they’re not looking for specific people because it takes too much time and effort. It’s easier and faster to just grab someone on the street who fits the profile, accuse them of some bullshit crime they can use as probable cause and run their ID.
In short, the nature of the incident in the video does not appear to be what it has been characterized as by the original poster and others elsewhere. It appears, rather, to be a lawful effort by licensed bail enforcement agents to apprehend an ordinary fugitive from justice.
As if bounty hunters are not lawfully employed by bail bondsmen all over the U.S. to apprehend fugitives from justice… There’s no evidence on the video that these unmasked men wrecked the house or stormed it. What are these papers the lead agent in the video is so prominently carrying?
It could just be a roll of paper, not an actual, legal warrant. But this is the problem. So far, of the list of criminals to deport only 6% have been taken in to custody since last October.
It takes time and effort to track down fugitives hiding from the criminal justice system, and it can be dangerous. They can manufacture a big body count faster by just grabbing people who fit the profile from the street, accuse them of any bogus crime to use as probable cause, and run their ID.
