This is a peak human experience. Every 8 minutes between Tokyo and Kyoto. I had such a problem getting a ticket because I tried to buy one days in advance, which is as unhinged as getting a subway ticket days in advance.

Ya exactly! Even in another language I can’t read it’s was pretty easy. I’m having so much fun. The views from this train were spectacular
I watch the videos I took from time to time and sigh.
Here’s one more. It’s just so sensible. I wish we were a country of sensible people.
8 minutes?! the fuck? US subways and busses have less frequent service (sometimes by a LOT)
it moves about half a million people a day.
It’s mind blowing.
I can't wait to experience this.
So good!
Two of my best friends just moved to Sendai to start a business too, so when I go I'll have the very best tour guides AND get to ride the shinkansen out of Tokyo on arrival
I rode this train 40 years ago. It was amazing then, and it can only have gotten better.
We are so behind the times in the US.
