To be fair, deluded as he is, Trump is perhaps the only world leader who's actually trying, however poorly, not to prolong the war.

Trump has expressed conflicting views that Putin has already won & that Russia is so exhausted that it wants to settle immediately. In reality, Russia is winning & isn't exhausted, but hasn't won. Trump would welcome a Ukrainian victory if it were possible w/o some unimaginable U.S. intervention.
