Have you put any thought into developing a way of disincentivizing quote dunks? Telling people to politely refrain is ineffective compared to structural solutions.

That quote dunks generally lead to a block seems to be disincentivization. Screenshot (with alt text) if you really, REALLY want to make it clear what doofing has occurred, but block and move on, happier and unfettered.

We did. In the early days of Bluesky, devs were taking feature requests. One of the requests they implemented was “detach quote” which is a great structural way to discourage this behavior. But I’m not sure how many users know about it.
