“Well someone needs to do something about the homeless.” Yes. We should house them.

It would literally be less expensive, compared to all the money we currently spend to police and persecute the homeless, to just buy homes and give them away. But Americans don't like that because a world where someone else's suffering is relieved before their own is unpalatable to them.

Dems hard at work working to pass bills authorizing research for an invisibility potion for the homeless. They dont care if they exist, they just dont want to see them existing.

dc occupation = $1m/day (per the intercept). per apartments[dot]com, aug 2025 a 1br apartment in dc: avg rent $2,319/mo; avg sqf 692. (would house 2 ppl comfortably). by sunday 8/31, the occupation will have cost at least $20 million. enought to pay a year's rent for 720 units/1,440 ppl.

Because they're a population that can be disappeared without worrying about hearing a sound from anyone. On either side of the aisle. Other than the sighs of relief, that is. Pretty fucking sad if you ask me, but what do I know. Silly me, I actually believe they're real live human beings.
