I wrote a lot of diary entries during the year of the pandemic when the only outside person I saw was my dentist. I'm going to publish my diary under the title JOURNAL OF THE PLAQUE YEAR.

Okay so some parts of my brain were tickled a bit by that proposed title. Question: Is there hard evidence that plaque removal has real medical (dentrical?) benefits apart from flashy white teeth which look nice? And I do wish to clarify that I do not doubt the merits of using a toothbrush.
