I’ve admittedly not watched every game as much as past years but entering the nightly viewing playoff push so I’ll pay closer attention. the Estrada thing I’m totally fine with Shildty’s choice and I’d like to think Arraez might get moved down (or up to leadoff, or bench) soon.
Shildt has only dug in harder on the Arraez issue over the last few weeks, including completely lying about his stats when pressed on it by the media. O’Hearn is only in the lineup every day because of the Merrill injury. Shildt has not shown any signs that he’s capable of growth.
the estrada thing is worse than the arraez thing. he said estrada has a lane he's been good in against them this year and it's objectively untrue. so if he put him in to try and help him get his confidence back, he did it in a spot in which he was unlikely to succeed, and now where's his confidence?
