Great - however they were pardoned. The record is gone. I agree with the goal !

Pardoned doesn’t mean the record is gone. “A pardon is an official forgiveness, or release from liability for a criminal offense.… It does not, however, wipe out the fact that the individual was guilty, or expunge the crime from the individual’s criminal record.” legaldictionary.net/pardon/

As I understand a pardon means you are 100% guilty, however punishment cancelled.
