Something about his face told me he’d seen the world and was sadder for it. Untied next to the pier as though abandoned and left behind once again. I patted him, walked returned so tempted to take him to love him till he forgot his yesterdays. But he’s not mine to love so I reluctantly left him be.
Found a dog at the county fair once. She was abandoned and had some intestinal parasites. Trip to vet, got that cleared up, got her up to date on vaccinations. Had her 16 years. Certainly one of the best things I ever did. Such a good dog.

I’d have done the same if I’d known 💯 that he wasn’t someone else’s. I think abandoned dogs when re homed make the best friends they are so happy to be loved and safe. I’m glad you had the opportunity to bring another joy ♥️
She had no collar. I left my phone number with the authorities with instructions to call me if anyone showed up looking for a lost dog. No one ever called. Named her "Carnie". Was love at 1st sight.
I completely relate. Don’t think there’s a day goes bye I think about my older doggos I had growing up. They never leave us. I’m glad she found you and lived her best life 😊

I did do the right thing by not taking someone else’s dog. I asked the fishermen and they had told me he belonged to someone who’d be back so I didn’t take him. But I desperately wanted to he was so sad. 😞
Lets hope the dog was only sad because he was waiting ☺️
