I started this thread with multiple examples of things that are working *better* and there are many more. What on earth is “working” about “say the same things as Trump while supporting the same policies on trans people, the unhoused, immigration, alt-right media, and creeping on teenagers”?
He have a multi-prong counter attack happening. Newsom is taking the low road. Pritzker is taking the high road. Walz is going low, Wes Moore is staying high. I like the strategy.
We have (Democrats).
Anil, you just lump things together and call them “the same,” but they’re not. Even a quick bit of research on Newsom’s actual trans policies shows that they are radically different from Trump’s. Do they maybe agree on the sports question? Perhaps, though that’s based on a podcast remark.
But he’s signed actual measures protecting trans kids from being outed by teachers, for example, and apparently took a lot of heat for it. He was a pioneer on gay marriage. Slick he is, obviously, but I doubt he’d ever throw gay marrieds under the bus.
You’re entitled to dislike him, you’ll never vote for him, obviously—I doubt I would either unless he was the only alternative to Trump, which is highly unlikely. But when you say that anyone who likes his satire is already MAGA—
you’re entitled to your opinion, but then I’m entitled to think that you are letting your emotions overwhelm your intellect. Take a deep breath: if on reflection you don’t see that’s a bizarre accusation, then we can’t discuss issues—different universes of thought. Fair enough, and I wish you luck.
