I don’t understand this big push to fire government workers. If you have too many, shrink the numbers through attrition or move them into areas where the service is poor. Taking money from workers to give to big corporations with sky high executive compensations makes no sense.
I've read the plan is through job attrition. That won't take money from workers or increase job competition.
Thousands of public service lay offs have already happened. They just did it through shorter term contracts and not refilling the positions. We will see but I suspect that this is overly optimistic.
