I will say that of all the classes so far in my law school journey—a journey that feels like a lord of the rings-esque journey with me obviously as a hobbit or a dwarf—CivPro has started of in media res, just right in the middle of the rules and goes fast. Maybe I’m gollum. Ugh
in media res is precisely why I LOVE to write chapter 1s and also probably at least part of the reason why I've never actually finished a book...
If they started with the provisions on parties, venue, and causes of action, that makes sense, because those are the basics. If they started anywhere else, just hang on and pay attention - it will sort itself out by exam time.
