I’ve found that one of the more important aspects of homicide detective work is talking with victims’ families during the investigation & in the lead up to trial. I’m paid by the city but I work for the families. They call often. And I answer. And their worry & grief is intense

Trials are all consuming. I mean it. I’ve done stuff in my life that some would consider somewhat stressful. I’ve never gone through anything close to lead detective in a murder trial. I always worry I missed something, or worry I’ll let down my community, and what Justice means

I hope the families will remember you as a bright light during their darkest times. Ten years ago, my son was the victim of vehicular homicide. The months leading up to the trial were horrible, but the officers on the case were wonderfully kind and supportive. We'll never forget them.
it's a HUGE responsibility, a thing that has stupidly fallen out of fashion.
Thank you. My elderly neighbor's house was being broken into weekly. We figured it was someone she knew, but the police ignored her, inferring she was demented. But then we caught him! We did, not the police. It was finally assigned to a WONDERFUL detective! I will never forget his caring & concern.
Been following you for a while. But never saw what kind of law you are going to practice. ?

Thank you for your many, many hours of hard work & care. I'll never forget the detectives that refused to give up after my stepbrother's murder, a hate crime. Cold case for 1.5 years, but detectives' work eventually found the men, now serving life. Wishing you success in your future law practice.
