😂 not to raise the bar too high. It's one of those games where the original was a masterpiece and this remake has modernized some of the dated mechanics to make it even better. But yeah, MGS3 is in my top 10.

Story wise, it's the first chronologically, so it's newcomer friendly. In substance, it's basically a cheesy James Bond film mixed with a melodramatic samurai film about loyalty. (Not my personal favorite plot, honestly.)/1

Gameplay wise, think Predator. Jungles, camouflage, mud, hunting for food, treating wounds, ect. There's a lot of mechanics, but the extent to which you actually interact with them depends on your playstyle and how well the basic stealth and combat encounters go. /2

Two last things: First, MGS games are long, so it'll take a bit to finish. Second, they're built a lot around new game+ to unlock stuff and experiment, so if you miss something the first time round, it's no big deal.
