Please say you disagree! This is like carbon capture: over-designed solutions that will never, ever work. There are better ways.

I do not believe renewable energy should be used to sustain a growth economic system that is killing life on this planet - degrowth is the only viable solution to live within natures limits and huge increase in energy production would not be necessary

I can't disagree with that. But it may help. Degrowth is going to have some really awful (but necessary) consequences. I, myself, am here on this earth solely because of the extraction of fossil fuels from this earth. Most others are, too.
