It was founded on a genocide, largely built with slave labour. But the US is a big and complicated thing - there are literally millions of most excellent people there. We should all support them in a time of great need.

Absolutely! There's a reason the US is so influential! Many amazing talents from here. Hopefully, it doesn't suffer a big brain drain.

It already has. Researchers, scientists, college professors, and more are leaving in numbers. Luckily many countries have billboards posted with info where they can go for help with housing and start-up costs. our loss their gain

Canada is clearing the usual red tape and delays to entice folks in healthcare in particular.

Yes, much of the beginning was built with slave labor, especially in the South...and definitely genocide of the people and culture already here. That said. Slavery was world wide. It wasn't ended in England until 1830. 1864 in the US so basically went on MUCH longer in Europe than the U.S.

No argument with you there. It is also telling how people, governments, address the lasting legacy of those crimes. Europe can claim few laurels there, yet the current US regime seems intent on revisionism, denial and repetition. And rapidly acquiring the means to make its hideous vision real.

That is what pisses me off so much...they are taking us HUGE steps backwards! All because these so-called men have such fragile egos. GRRRR

Perhaps the fragility of their egos is an inevitable side effect of the unsustainable systems that created them. None of it actually hangs together. With you on the Grrr tho, double and triple grrr!

They make their choices every day...They Choose to be assholes. No one "made" them that way. Its choices..you can look back, See how you were treated/raised and DECIDE to be a different person. I don't blame "society" for a lot of this, I blame the people making the choice to be Assholes!
