That calls for second breakfasts....
Wow! Very talented.
Beautifully done!
This is excellent.
Fancy!
Bravo! 👏
Absolutely beautiful.
Wow
Great job
+1 for Matt Berry
I heart this so hard!
Here are the endpapers if you were curious what’s going on inside.
It's so so beautiful 😍
I do this on IG and TikTok if y’all want to watch me destroy more books 😈 Instagram.com/wildboundbooks TikTok.com/@wildbound_books
Very nice
Incredibly done! Fantastic! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow
Wow, that is some serious dedication! Looks like a fun hobby. 👏🏼👏🏼
You had me going in the first half .....
How do you glue the spine to the cover ? Because on paperback book spine needs to flex a bit for the book to open nicely. I feel there is a technical challenge there.
I don’t glue the spine to the cover. I reinforce the spine with book cloth and attach the cloth to the front and back covers. The spine remains flexible within the hard cover.
Nice ! I'd loved to see how it is done.
Your behaviour is first horrifying, then gratifying.
Glad the real hero of the story got a shoutout on the back cover.
Was that adhesive vinyl or HTV? You've inspired me on some of my thrifted books needing a spot of a glow up.
Refreshing to see an American who isn’t burning books.
Love the finished result, but tell me, did you enjoy the thought of horrifying everybody while removing the old cover? 😆
My first reaction!!!
Skeptical. When I was a kid there were kits to do something like that, and I bound some prized SF paperbacks. It didn't work. The PAPER in paperbacks doesn't last.
So beautiful!! *^* But damn the first part is always so painful to watch 😱
Right? That looks cool and all, but deliberately ripping the cover off of a perfectly good paperback book is like just no......
I know it's always for the best but it still hurt 😭
📌 🥰
At first I gasped. LOL
Me too! There should have been a warning!
I'm with you two lol
This is truly awesome
WOW!
I did gasp when you ripped off the book covers and my husband though something was wrong. I watched the whole thing and I think I’m in love with you and I want you to know I make great lemon cake. I’m so impressed. I’m not really getting my point across, I sound lame but really truly, wow. I love it
Aw haha thanks!
Beautiful! ❤️
I love this!
bone folders are so useful.
Your work is amazing.
Thanks!
No, you’re giving me a heart attack in the first 7 seconds, defiling a book. I almost didn’t watch any more. Spoiler alert — it turns out alright. Glad I watched to see the ending. Pretty Classy!
Beautiful 😊🤩
It's Tolkien. When you were ripping it to bits you shouldn't have stopped at the cover.
Coolest thing I've seen on the internet of late.
Thank you
FRODO LIVES!
Amazing and beautiful!
Your HTF game is fire! It looks so crisp and clean!
Wow, kudos! I’d be scared to do this to a book but you have inspired me to add it to my bucket list of bookish things to try someday
I have the hobbit and LOTR boxed set my dad gave me in the 80s and the covers are just done for. I've wanted them re-covered forever now. Lmk if you would do this for payment, plz.
Email me at wildboundbooks@gmail.com 😊
Charming! You are very skilled
Gorgeous work!
Nice
I think Tolkien would approve. It looks like the kind of book he'd have in his library
Wow that's awesome.
Solid crafting! But, isn’t that ‘putting💄on a 🐖’ though? Given that the interior pages are cheap non-archival quality pulp paper. Kinda like putting a nice coat of paint on a dilapidated trap house.
I guess… it’s my copy and I’m having fun?
Good for you! You deserve to have fun. I’m just saying your obvious creativity & skill could perhaps be better deployed on a quality volume. Heck folx like me might even pay you for one were it of collectible/heirloom quality.
Maybe! Although would someone want me ripping off the cover of something clearly collectible as is?
Maybe a sleeve type cover that slips on sort of like we had to do to the textbooks as school kids?
That’s definitely an option!
😑And thank you for sharing it!
Great job!
That’s fantastic. What kind of transfers were you using there at the end?
Thanks! It’s heat transfer vinyl.
Thanks, will try to track some down. Thinking my LOTR 4K Blu-Ray set might need new sleeve art and a slip-cover / box 🤔. Took a stab at improving on the Lawrence Of Arabia sleeve last year…
Cool!
(To be clear, I don’t take any credit for the art on the front - that’s the original German poster art from 1962, but with replacement English language typography…)
‼️
I'd love to learn how to do this, could you recommend a website for learning?
Awesome 😎 🩷
Sorry didn’t realize it was a reel!!!😂 got it!! Cool
What is this even about??
Loving books
Very nice. Do you work as a book binder as well.? 📚
I’ve only done rebinds like this one, would love to get further into book binding someday.
You could work at any university library.
Eeeeeeeeeeee!
😍
Elmer’s degrades and loses adhesion in about three months.
It’s an Elmer’s bottle with PH PVA glue inside. I like using the Elmer’s bottle because of its smaller size, it’s easier for my hand to squeeze 😊
WoW, so beautifull!! Awesome skill 😊
@indianfusion.bsky.social
Brilliant!!
Hello ma'am 👋 Do you need a self defense keychain set Follow me so you can order ✅
🤩 WOW!
Why rip out the original covers? Keep them in situ and tip in the new ends on top. Don't lose book historicity.
Puro cuento
When they ripped the cover off I felt it in my heart!! The result was stunning!! They should be proud of themselves <3
