This is very cool.
This is very cool.
Very cool!
If vampires do not exist, why all the fancy and expensive gear?
Because the Catholic church loves their theatrics.
Oooh!! 🖤
What the, what?! I have to see it for myself. ☺
Here are some more photos from VAMPA, the vampire museum. These are photos of a Jinn warfare case, with similar tools in it used to fight vampires, like spikes and what appear to be wooden scimitars
Here are two particularly fun photos, in which we learn Michael Jackson bought this antique vampire set as a gift for David Gest, Liza Minnelli's late husband but then returned it and ended up with an $8000 store credit. I am slightly dubious because Thriller came out way before Liza married David
oh shoot sorry I forgot the alt text on those photos!!!
Speaking of shooting, here's a fun antique vampire set with a little pistol in it, another set with some ornately carved instruments, and some assorted vampire-related spikes and crucifixes. Plus an etching (??) my niece pointed to while saying "that's a really fat bat"
Next up is this absolutely insane... rocking chair? Which may or may not have been owned by Vincent Price? honestly this thing is metal as hell
Ok!! Now it's time for some exorcism chairs! Or maybe one exorcism chair and one torture chair?? I don't know but guys these are terrifying!!!!! What the fuck! The placard on the front of the first one says "extremely rare" which is only somewhat reassuring
Honestly I REALLY liked this place and the collection was amazing, and I thought the informational placards were quite thoughtful (even when occasionally I found them silly, but that's on me). I met the owner, Ed, and he was very nice.
ok I will stop spamming the feed with these now but I absolutely have more photos if anyone wants them (including a voodoo priestess spell set?? and incredible antique Ouija boards)
Don't need more pics. Need to Doylestown
I used to work 15 minutes from there and never knew it existed! Shame on me.
@agri.bsky.social I have so, so, SO many photos and can share as many as you like
Omg what part of Penn? Because sometimes I have to go to Pittsburgh and this would make it all worth while
the absolute opposite end of the state, unfortunately for you
Dammit!
Looks like stuff out of Dexter's closet.
This looks like a really interesting museum! BUT… were any of these weapons used to actually kill any “vampires” ?because that means they were used to kill people. 😬 (I’m thinking about the witch trials during which they actually killed women not witches)
Thanks for posting this! We are planning a trip to visit soon!
Have been there! Very cool place!
I’m heading to PA in October, I hope I’ll be near this museum!
Wait… Where in PA?
Doylestown
Could you tell me where in Pennsylvania?
Doylestown
One can never be too prepared.
did you go over a vampire weekend
I don’t like vampire stuff, but this is a good exception. 😁
the IG algo really wants me to go here!
You absolutely should! My parents moved nearby a few years ago, and I am so glad my niece asked if she could go. I don't know if I ever would have gone on my own
the Witch Board Museum in Salem is totally delightful. it's small, but my friend and I spent hours talking to the proprietor, and he has some really cool stuff for sale. my friend purchased a "Mantic Message Mat" from Jeraldine Saunders' collection (amazing rabbit hole) www.salemwitchboardmuseum.com
ohh I would love that too. There were witch/ouija boards at VAMPA too! You'd really like this place and the owner is genuinely so nice. I was blown away by it, I thought it would be silly but it really wasn't
Pesky vampires.
oh my goodness COOL
It really truly was. I have more photos I can share, there's some wild stuff there!
[the teeth teeth teeth tweet voice] blog POST blog POST blog POST

omg leah it’s quite literally the least i could do!! i get very excited every time i see a new post of yours, they’re always such a highlight
😭 thank you so much, sometimes I feel like I'm writing into the void so this means a lot! (I may give myself a week or two off soon because I need a break but I think I'll write about that first lol)
Can we borough a trunk for Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark ZuckerbOrg and others?
That place is awesome! So is the dinosaur park nextdoor!!!!!
In Doylestown of all places!!
That is really cool
“We moved to Pennsylvania because it sounded like Transylvania.” - Jackie Daytona, human bartender
This is why I follow you on here
I knew there had to be a reason
Doylestown is the reason, apparently
I'm as surprised as you are, trust me
I am SO jealous!!!!!
Back in my teens I had a thing about vampires 🤣 my teenage crush aside this an awesome looking kit. If I can ever get back into US without being detained by ICE I'll definitely plan a visit there ✌️
I feel like people wouldn’t have taken the time to craft such things if such things didn’t exist 🤷🏽♂️
Exactly!
Really interesting thank you! Loved the pics 🧛🏻
Technologies great and all, but there's just no way to improve on vampire killing implements from the 1800's
This is fabulous.
Thanks for sharing!
Shhh. Don't tell Don pedo. He'll want to revise vampire history to make it coincide with his beliefs about blood sucking.
