The militarisation of EU borders has been ongoing for years - it's not specific to Russia, even if that's the current context for Poland, Finland et al. As before, the EU is very much in the find out phase of enabling neighbouring and/or hostile states to instrumentalise asylum-seeking in this way.
And as per usual, it's the people seeking and in need of protection who suffer.
The EU countries are the only ones who take these matters seriously. But hey.
