Thank you - it is surreal to be a citizen of what I had always thought to be a stable nation who wanted peace and to work with other nations. What I learned as a kid was that this was an imperfect, improving place with checks and balances and where anyone could come for a better life.

When Trump was elected the first time, I was devastated and I learned that the US is not what I had thought it was. When Biden was elected, I thought we had turned it around. With Trump again, now I am irate and fearful that with the decimation he’s already done, our democracy will fail.

I really don’t want to leave - it’s my home and I protest and call my reps and will fight. I have many loved ones I wouldn’t want to leave behind. I think I’m just in a such state of shock and anger and grief and and I am trying to find some way that I can feel like I have some element of control.

Yep know that feeling. We had a really shitty government for the past 5 yrs. during Covid the fuckers had parties and late night booz ups in Downing Street! Do you know what we did? We got them out, hopefully never to return. That’s what you have to do come midterms, get the bastards out!

That’s the goal. My concern is that Trump will manufacture yet another “invasion” or some other reason to declare martial law, which effectively ends elections. (Yes, I have anxiety and it’s running full force right now.)
