Listen. As a trans person, I'm going to tell you exactly where I stand on this. Newsom is a bad person. He's a transphobe. He's BRUTAL to homeless people. Please, please don't vote for him in the primaries. Begging you. If he wins the primary, I'll hold my nose and vote for him. But not happily.
I can't speak for other people, but all I can say as a trans person terrified of the continual assaults on our rights is that I am NOT trying to "divide" people. I am trying to survive. Almost any other (D) would be better for my rights than Newsom. He's better than Trump…which isn't saying much.
I am, again, BEGGING people to remember what a monster Newsom will be to people like me and to unhoused people, and to support someone else— ANYONE else— in the primary. That's all. You can find his antics funny. It IS good that he's pushing back against Trump. But remember this come the primary.
All valid points. I have no inclination to vote for him at all if he were to run. I strictly find his tweets toward Trump funny. I understand he is anti-trans, which means I won’t support him with my vote.
