How is it that people believe only Democrats have agency? If the government had shut down, it would have been because Republicans refused to negotiate (again). Pelosi understood how this works the last time Trump shut down the government. Somehow Schumer didn't.

Ah, but people associate Democrats with being the responsible party, and Republicans with being the less-responsible party. Nobody would blame Democrats if they did shutdown the government NOW. But that is after a bunch of bad decisions by this Administration.
