using AI generated shit that uses thousands of gallons of fresh water to generate, to make an image of two pieces of shit is a really weird thing to do.

I’ve heard of this before. Please overlook my ignorance of knowing absolutely nothing about the generation of AI, but genuinely curious how does it use water to work?
Data centers use liquid cooling like some PCs do, except on a MASSIVE scale, AI data centers use easily 5x-10x as much. Microsoft purchased the long island reactor just to power their generative AI program, a whole nuclear reactor, just for that.
As the water (some data centers use a mixture of fresh water and some chemical, not all do though) runs through the system to cool everything it evaporates, a good portion of that water is simply lost as it stays in the pipes and buildings, the rest evaporates and takes a long time to come back.
While we wait for the natural processes to bring back the massive amount of water used by AI facilities, we are experiencing droughts and loss of freshwater sources.
Thank you!
You're very welcome :)
