A simple Google search will teach you how GDP and trade are closely linked. Higher GDP are correlated with higher growth in trade. Increased consumer demand for imports and spending while strengthening a country's currency, which in return makes export more competitive, etc.

You aren't arguing with me, you are arguing with the graph I posted. If the numbers are wrong then say so, otherwise I stand by my statement.

There is a correlation between the GDP and trade. Your graph is not showing that. Yes, I am arguing with your graph.
