Awful. Chronic shortage of medical specialists. As of now there's one pediatric heart surgeon on the entire archipelago. The island of Veiques Hasn't had a functioning medical center since 2017. There's a chronic housing shortage costs are too high due to too many airbnbs. Need i go on

It wasn't always like this. Puerto Rico's health care system used to beat the envy of the caribbean. It was actually a universal health care system from 1957-1993. Sadly neoliberal pro statehood politicians privatized it over the years until it was finally dismantled in 1993
