Look i know I'm barely 1/90 of an author these days but I cannot believe the BS of these publishers to failing to register copyright So now authors have to write the books & solo promo the book & also double check if you did your job RE:copyright while you pay them 87 months after the book was sold

Yeah, the less work that needs to be done means less people they have to pay to work which leaves so much more for the upper echelon of the companies. Considering how many of the big publishers are owned by media conglomerates or private equity, it's probably just going to get worse.

But so many more big authors are indie and, with time others may join the wave. Or at least self publish to get to a point or having more negotiating powers and/or choice of publisher. As long as ppl continue to complain, things run the chance of getting better.

I don't understand & I'm gutted watching ppl discover their trust was misplaced and their books were not secure like they thought

pay them 87 months after the book was sold and likely taking half for all that nothing you're offering!! 😡
