The concept of a World Reserve Currency is complex—certainly beyond my expertise. As a layman, I wonder: what’s stopping Europe from creating its own reserve currency? BRICS is supposedly working on something similar.

The world will very quickly show us that they don't need the US. Trumps "America Alone" policies are enforcing that. This whole thing is going to set us back 100 years. How is that great?

Bringing back open slavery and general discrimination/segregation is the goal. Always has been.

I said this to a friend months ago. And he blew it off … I knew this would come down the pike eventually.

I said it as soon as Trump stopped playing nice with Europe. Our dollar has the value it does because of all the countries we trade with - it makes it so they can use it with us and each other. If they no longer are using it with us, then they will have no benefit in using it with each other.

The dollar will fall, permanently, and the outcome for America could be one of the largest depressions we've ever seen. Not only will it lose its value abroad, but with that loss of value will come loss of value at home. I'm jot sure America will ever recover.

I’m hoping that America is just going through its teenager phase and will grow up and get rid of these losers like a bad habit.

Who would have thought Trump would reduce America’s standing in the world, politically, economically, militarily and morally- in just a few short months. I knew it would be bad, but I didn’t think it would be this bad.

I think they can and I bet they will! Trump is endangering everything: our democracy, our culture, our education, research and development in many different disciplines, and our economy. If the dollar should lose its status as world reserve currency, our way of life will change dramatically.

ABOUT TIME! The US Dollar and our inflation rate have been grossly and inaccurately and materially misstated since the Reagan administration - and I have the receipts, so to speak. The US Dollar is likely worth 20% to 50% of what it is said to be worth, and I can show supporting calculations! LIARS!

Not only have we had deficits climbing, ever since Reagan, but inaccurate inflation numbers. We could experience a GDP contraction of 3% per year for a decade, and still have an overinflated US Dollar! It’s that bad!
