At least it wasn't with a real animal
So thats where Kung Fury got the idea from! :D
100% genAI ... If I didn't know it actually existed.
NOT THE MAMA! NOT THE MAMA!
peak cinema
Why does Theodore look like a young Earl Sinclair?
The Velocipastor is also a real movie. These Jurassic Park spinoffs are getting out of hand.
Whoopi’s ‘Boxing Helena’. Mind you, she got paid millions to do it. Nice work if you can get it but don’t want it.
“NOT THE MOMMA!!“ 🍳*BONK*
I’m halfway through the novelisation and that damn dinosaur has yet to show up.
It was a B movie we picked up from Blockbuster & enjoyed how bad it was because all the new releases were gone.
The TRex represents the long arm of the law then. Oh wait…
Fuck I totally forgot this was a thing
I see your Theodore Rex and raise you, Tammy & the T-Rex Tammy and the T-Rex - Wikipedia share.google/HFvyinEDXbwy...
This is what Murders at Karlov Manor should have been about.
There is also of course a dance scene set to Walk the Dinosaur
Hey, look, it's Fran and Earl Sinclair's real-life kid. "I'm with Whoopi. Gotta love me!"
Let's see AI come up with shit this ridiculous, it won't happen!
Oh No! Another one with a big mouth and little hands.
Looks like they picked up the wardrobe from ABCs short lived dinosaur sitcom on a fire sale
when my wife and I were first moving in together, i was helping her go through old games at her family’s place and she found some PS2 game or something she’d been looking for for YEARS, but instead of the game inside it was a DVD of Theodore Rex that a friend lent her 10+ years before 💀
and iirc she asked that same friend years after that when we were about to move out of state if he wanted his copy of Theodore Rex back and he said “nah you can keep it” lmao
rumor has it its one of @indominus-lux.bsky.social top 15 movies.
A rumor that was started by you, here, today
Preposterous
"Would you not be a fan of a fun dinosaur buddy cop movie, Lyght?"
I only track my top 5 and I don't think a movie I've never seen is cracking the hypothetical top 15 BUT with that aside I am *going* to watch it now.
It is real, and it introduced myself and my siblings to the term 'butt trumpet' as a slang for farting. I somehow remember this some thirty years later despite watching the movie once. Man brains are weird.
the whole Whoopi Goldberg Dinosaur extended universe is a fascinating rabbit hole
This movie was a deep fever dream of my childhood.
i remember this because i'm also old
This isn’t even Universes Beyond, you could put this together using regular Magic sets.
When I think of the movie(s) that could have been made instead of this one... I assume they were pretty dumb too.
Movie is being a bit generous.
Can confirm. This IS a movie. I've seen it.
I think I did, too.
Is this set in the Leonard Part 6 universe?
I dunno, seems unrealistic. Why would anyone be buddies with a cop?
and not a very good one. I like a big swing, even if it misses the mark- but this went too far.
This but as a super dark and gritty crime drama: "I don't know if I can deal with another dead child, Rex... - You get used to it *lights a cigarette* extinction does this to you...
You forgot the part where the dinosaurs are psychics too
Also Whoopi Goldberg herself is some kind of cyborg in the movie.
Y’all are making this sound too good
Also Theodore Rex fucks a widow after her husband is killed by an explosive. And Rex is investigating his death.
i’m assuming the murders are all predation events where the t. rex is eating the humans, right?
Naah. Explosive robot butterflies.
The only next reasonable guess, clearly.
I wish it was lol. It's not super great in the end ( Woopie don't give a shit and it shows 😆)
Yeah, we literally just watched this for my son's birthday today 😆
Better than The Good Dinosaur
This is what happens when Guinan gets bored with bartending.
It was a weird movie fr
I Went to Jr. high with her daughter when she lived in Berkeley!
and we wonder why most are sooooo fucking stupid
Hollywood had ideas once. I’m not saying they were good, but they were ideas.
Ya gotta dig up quite some dirt to find the diamonds in the rough. Nowwadays all of Hollywood digs at the same three spots because that's where they found 1 diamond three decades ago. 🤷♂️
All I can think of is Tammy and the TRex.
Telling my grandchildren this was, Ikoria.
I controversially think Theodore looks like John Travolta
Wait, someone besides me has heard of and watched this movie?! I may have subjected all of my friends to this and Adventures in Dinosaur City in the same day for our movie group.
Have you seen Happytime Murders? That movie was something else too!
Whoppi regret making this movie. The only reason she did it is so she wouldn’t get sued.
Reminds me of that one dinosaur family tv show. Forgot the name, but the dinosaur mask looks familiar in that way.
Reason: 90s
(In case you aren't joking, the series is literally called 'Dinosaurs') (In case you are joking - damn.)
So . . . Who's built the commander deck based on this relationship?
oh dear and she made some decent comedies i guess her career stalled
When we lived in an economy where working people could imagine a future for themselves: fresh new outside ideas about unknown futures were popular in our media Con economy is why our media has been a nostalgia fest the past few decades. People wanna imagine the better times. Art history hurts
I will be replier #317 to say “UB Theodore Rex WHEN?!?!”
And a damn good one
The Universes Beyond the people crave.
Velocipastor is also a real movie and doable as a theme for a deck. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vel...
I might watch it actually... Or see if MST3K has covered it yet.
I’m not sure. Rifftracks may have done a thing for it. It’s on Prime, I think but I’m not sure where else.
Oh and it’s really bad. Oh so bad.
It's worse than Birdemic, and that says something.
What a terrifying scene
Fun Fact: Whoopi did not want to do this movie and her performance is so dang funny when you watch it knowing that
'90s video store classic. lol
Holy shit I totally forgot about this movie and now it’s coming back to me…….
Wasn't bad either.
Addendum, the dinosaur is voiced by George Newburn who voiced Sephiroth. You can't make this up
universes beyond when
📌
oh so love that film
ITS LIKE KUNG FURY AND TRICERACOP FJFJFSSHFSHIFHISDHDHJSJK
This has gone right to the top of my must watch list. Thank you!
Found this while looking up Theodore Rex, so here's a counter weird film. Tammy and the T-Rex is a film where Tammy's boyfriend dies via a lion/jaguar enclosure. A mad scientist takes his brain and puts it into an animatronic T-Rex, which goes on a murder spree in revenge of those that killed him.
Tammy and the T-Rex is actually hillarious , I totally recommend it (way more than Theodore Rex )
I plan on watching tonight with my friend! Turns out there are 2 copies of the film, the original PG-13 film, and the Uncut version. It was supposed to have more gore, but they changed it last second and made it less gorey/PG-13 rated!:>
Enjoy ! 😄
Fun fact: Tammy went on to get a degree in nuclear physics and assisted James Bond in averting a radiological catastrophe in the Bosphorus.
Fun fact: The video game, High on Life has Tammy and the T-Rex playing in the game's living room. The entire movie plays in its entirety and can be watched by the player.
☝️ *The above is from the department of redundancy department.
It's a horror comedy, and this is probably the least graphic cover for the film.
There was also Anonymous Rex (2004). Interesting idea!
What about 2012’s Iron Sky for a fun yet ridiculous movie. I mean: Moon Nazis. That’s it, that’s the pitch.
The 90s were wack lol
Such a good movie!!
was it a spin off from "Dinosaurs" the series? I loved that show!!! www.imdb.com/title/tt0101...
not the mama
Is this gonna be a secert lair drop sets? Or a new UB set?
5 year old me is ALL ready for it, man.
No effing way!
Time to build a new commander deck based exactly on the plot of this film!
AKA: Money laundering.
It is a movie. I have seen it. It's not the worst I've seen, I actually made it to the end. But it's not great.
I really hope rifftrax has done this film or is going to do this film
… Academy Award Winner Armin Müller-Stahl is in it, too
Given the film's premise, you have to admire the chutzpah of beginning a synopsis of it with the word "No-nonsense".
Whoopi Goldberg made some oral agreement that she'd do this movie and then when she tried to back out they sued her. Also the guy that voices the T-Rex is Sephiroth now.
Was Sephiroth. George Newbern did indeed play the role for several years, but the more since remake the character has been voiced in English by Tyler Hoechlin. Both actors have played Superman interestingly enough.
damn hot DILF Superman voices Sephiroth? neat
damn
The film is so little know it's wiki page doesn't even bother to give a synopsis.
I HOPE It gets to TV quickly.
Okay but when Who Framed Roger Rabbit did it 7 years prior it was a hit
New Ixalan/MKM Secret Lair drop
