I have a daughter who lives in the U.K. We sometimes get boxes. Until last Wednesday, she could take the box to Royal Mail, and we’d get it a few days later. The only cost was postage. Now she has to use a private shipper, and, on top of the postage, we paid a $34 import fee. That is a tax.

According to Royal Mail's website, US deliveries are back up and running.

We’ll see next time she wants to send something. 😏 But I still paid the tax. 😒

I have customers that regularly send parcels over to their grandkids. Looks like these new tariffs/customs charges are making it even more expensive, going forwards.
