Yes, and I think that roots in the ground at different depths, with different shapes, creating different spaces & webs of fungi is almost creating a reservoir in the soil. At least that's the way my clumsy brain grasps at it.

Yes! For me first discovering the amazing world of mychorrizae was a complete game changer in the way I think about botany,mycology, trees and woodland ecology. I’m sure that modern humans are only just scratching the surface when it comes to truly understanding the deep interconnections in nature.
