My country was communist just 34 years ago. Be very thankful you haven't experienced communism. We've never seen a darker period.

Google it. My country, Albania, was a communist dictatorship until 1991. Be thankful your ass is living in a democratic society and that you haven't experienced the horrors of communism.

Here's the thing. Communism the way Marx envisioned it can never be achieved. The "really bad job" we did is as close as you can get to it. That's what happens when you abolish private property and give the state full control over everything. Communism enables dictatorships.
