If you're an immigrant, don't do it. Cancel those plans ASAP for your own safety. And from now on, always carry your passport and memorize the phone number of someone who can help you if ICE comes for you. Be safe.

This is horrifying. My partner is 3rd gen US citizen (parents f/S America), I'm Native Am. We DAILY get stopped & harrassed, even at the grocery store...in small town MidWest. Our family in NYC gets stopped as well. We (fam & ourselves) carry photo-ID, passports & birth certificates...

They will take your phone away and eventually you'll be given a chance to call someone using their phones. I've been reading about people who have been detained and denied access to their phone, even if it's to look up a phone number.

I’m Canadian snowbird what I have taken away is always have memorized at least one phone number to call in case of emergency. I’m very low risk WRT detention but I’m nervous enough we won’t return after we leave even tho we own home here. Will likely sell. Coming here 15 yrs
