Our defence is a massive concern. Has been all pre-season. That’s without even talking about the lack of options at centre-back. Already concerned that it’s what is going to be the downfall of the forthcoming campaign.

Definitely though midfield non existent today, been saying it for ages we need a mf who can get it his foot in, break attacks up along side Ryan. Sod Isak, get mid as said for 50m, defender, not the Palace homophobe thanks & their must be another forward for 50m who will score 20+ league goals
Been frustrating to see those who have said that defensive reinforcements were a bigger priority than signing Isak have been derided on here for the last few weeks.
Yeah, it’s weird. We’re sleepwalking into a massive issue IMO.
We took Hugo off and had to put Domo up front. Clear that we need both defensive and attacking signings still.
All things being equal I’m happier with the prospect of having to play Wirtz as a centre forward than I am with the idea of having to play Endo as a centre half.
Let’s hope those aren’t the only two options we have. 😬
Totally agree.
It’s alarming how many chances we concede from simple through balls straight down the middle. Also, was there even any mention of a VAR check with the studs in Frimpong’s shin? Might have missed it.
Don’t think so.
What's irritating is the move to walking football across the back, we can be 2 nil up, then resort to walking football and slow it down, the other team then gets momentum, scores and we fail to pick it up. See last season
Yeah, it does seem to happen far too regularly.
I don’t think it’s a ‘massive’ concern, a bit rusty. With the caveat that we need another CB. The surprise for me is we still seemed happy to give away control of midfield with a goal lead. I thought the plan this season was to push on and win by 2/3, but we were content to let them have the ball
I think the age of Virgil & the injury history of Konaté & Gomez that make it a big worry for me. Yeah, I think it’s a really good example of why we want Isak.
There are definitely more questions than answers at this stage, which is odd given how quickly we got most of our business done. They’ve got a big week of training ahead to iron out all the creases and get some more business done.
Totally agree.
