Please don’t stay out. Come and document what you see. Businesses are already hurting. Some have said that it is worse than during the pandemic, so good people are already beginning to suffer. Unless people are here to help, it will only get worse. Besides, avoiding DC means it will come to you soon

i came in yesterday partly for this reason (to support businesses) & i was in dupont, edge of adams morgan & NoMa & besides a few national guard at the NoMa metro & security at the metro generally being more prominent, the thing i mostly noticed was how not busy the city seemed.

It has been this way for the past week or so. People just aren’t coming, and others are not venturing out. $2 billion to “beautify” a city that you’ve emptied seems ridiculous, but it would be perfectly in line with the playbook of dictators.

These businesses need to make some noise instead of asking people to risk getting thrown in jail for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

What do you expect them to do? They also need to be at work to stay in business. Simply walking the streets isn’t going to get 90% of people thrown in jail.

Exactly this. They're attacking the blue States, tourism and business. They're crippling the farms. They're attacking our way of making the living.
