He's the head of the world's 4th largest economy, so that, alone, makes him pretty significant. Why doesn't he matter? Genuine question.
People are driving themselves insane arguing about whether or not Newsom should be the Dem nominee in 2028, and that couldn't be less relevant now ('a week is a long time in politics' etc) But redistricting is crucial for 2026, like absolutely crucial and that needs broad-based support
He’s doing ok taking cheap shots at Trump and enraging him. But that’s saying less about him and more about the current democratic field. All of them should have been making fun of the despot months ago. It’s sad that it’s only him and so late. Definitely just sitting in the right chair.
It's true but that matters like .005% as much as redistricting
