I don't think the Trump folks are wrong to say that, for example, seizing control of the Fed is small-d democratic (as @adamtooze.bsky.social argues in that piece I linked) which is why I answered that way. No?

*Someone* seizing control of the fed could *theoretically* be small-d democratic, but Trump seizing the Fed clearly, obviously, will not be any kind of Democratic. We do not need to do a thought experiment here, Trump and his gang of corrupt authoritarians are the ones seizing the Fed right now.
