Well he's a train wreck wherever he goes. I find the average driver in NH to be vastly better, safer and more courteous than drivers anywhere else I've lived or visited.

Oh it was the subject of getting eaten by bears that caught my eye. Had that conversation w/ my NH neighbor today. He found some bear cubs playing on his steps recently, didn't want to be murdered by a peeved mother bear. Problem seems to be we have a local bear cub rescue group that is v successful

So successful in rearing orphaned cubs that they recently released scores of them in our town. Not really the image ppl in MA have of the ppl in NH, though. Lots of assholes here of course, but then I grew up in RI which is asshole central.

It’s a region rich in jerks. I had more in mind the town that white supremacist libertarians took over, lowered taxes in until they couldn’t afford any standard services, and then were overrun by bears. Certainly a scenario that could play out in any state with a right-wing political culture.

In New England these days, there’s really only two states where that particular situation could happen as a matter of course, and Maine’s too big and empty for anyone to have noticed.

Yeah, those were all ppl who moved to NH to create a libertarian hell hole in that specific small town. It'd be a bit like judging California because of the Donner Party.

Dunno, “a settler-colonial state run for and by incompetent but unapologetic cannibals” is a shoe that fits so well it might appear on a Gavin Newsom poster next week. We may have put our fingers on a pretty good method for state characterization here!
