So often we glorify lone heroes who swoop in to save the day, but rarely tell stories of communities saving themselves. Collective action is too real, too threatening, maybe even too boring, to fit our favorite feel-good story about powerful and charismatic individuals.

Which you can break by not playing their game. They need you more than you need them believe it or not. For starters learn to govern yourself as you work with others doing the same thing as you create a community that operates on the line that no-one is above or below anyone in the community.

By sharing your resources within the community ensuring everyone can satisfy their needs & wants adequately. Adequate just meaning without gluttony, without scarcity. But no-one is willing to govern themselves as they live as they treat others as their Equal.

“From each according to his ability, to each according to to his need,” so to speak. But THAT (quelle horreur!) is COMMUNISM. The bourgeois ideology of rapine & greed teach us that all the things we’re taught in preschool can’t work in adult life. Come again? How‘s that??😳🙃🤫

There is more than one Societal Structure that is Available to Humanity. Vertical as is the present structure. Horizontal where everyone is on the same Social Plane. But horrors of horrors no privileges, no entitlements. Where you are required to live you life according to some basic principles

Honesty, Openness, Integrity, Justice. Honesty & Openness are sisters. Integrity-part of which is walking the middle path of the virtues. Justice is your sense of it tempered by Mercy & Compassion. Where respect is the respect given between Equals. Heaven forbid Equality even.

Till you ditch your mindset that a vertical structure is the only structure nothing will change. A horizontal Structured Society is always a work in progress unlike the vertical structure is fixed immutable structure that that is incapable of meeting the needs of the Generations.

So you’re thinking Shakerism or Quakerism might be an approach? Godwinian anarchism is a theory but it’s never been put into meaningful practice. It relies on everyone operating from good intentions & in my experience humans aren’t built that way.

No! They are still vertical structured Societies. A Society where no one is more than others nor are they less than others. A Society where governance begins with the individual governing themselves. The working with those they interact as they live their live to create the guidelines for

their community. A Society that recognises that all the individual truly possesses is their body & the mind that animates it, all other possession is a delusion not reality. With that recognition comes the realisation that they are Sovereign persons

so must make alliances with others to have their needs & wants satisfied adequately as they live their lives.

Just as a point of information, the Society of Friends has no church hierarchy. They ensure all community decisions are arrived at via complete consensus & abjure any form of coercion or pressure as violence. Literally. They do agree members are allowed to own things. Clothes for instance.

Yes because big government is only to enrich the oligarchs, fund the military-industrial complex, and provide corporate welfare.

It's amazing how many "feel good stories" are just signs of a dystopia
