Perjury is a criminal offense outside the court's power of contempt. Again, a prosecution needs to start with a prosecutor, not a judge. (Which won't happen, I know.) The problem with contempt is that a judge isn't going to sanction a witness for dishonest testimony. They'll leave that to DOJ.
