I’m not buying any of this conspiracy.
As a Creative Director with over 3 decades hiring photographers including for several news outlets I know that the one’s who had covered conflicts would almost universally take, what I believe to be, stupid risks to get photos. At that moment they were ONLY thinking “Get the best shot possible”.
To be clear, I don’t believe that I know any of photographers who were present personally. What I wrote was about what I have observed as a pattern with people who cover conflicts. In my experience regardless of what they felt about the person, they wouldn’t miss the chance to get the lifetime shot.

I too have suspicions, but need more hard evidence. Clearly real bullets were used as the Trump supporter was killed behind him. I have no doubt Trump would happily sacrifice a supporter for his purposes, but would he really take a chance he’d be hit? How was the shooter recruited? Still questions.

As a veteran, I can tell you the cavitational effect of a 5.56mm round with that much rotational speed on it will do significant damage to anything it hits, let alone grazes. It's designed to tumble when it hits a flesh mass, so if it grazes flesh, it's gonna impart spin damage to that area. Staged

A simple test: take a block of ballistics gel, precision aim a rifle so that the center of the bullet will pass 3mm from one edge of the block, and fire the round so you can get a light graze wound on the gel. Do that 10 times and compare the resulting damage

Old wrestler's trick to have a small sharp object or a razor blade to make the cut. Ear has lots of capillaries at the surface so it will bleed well. Remember Trump is friends with McMahan and the WWF crowd. Definitely possible that's the trick he used to make it look like he was shot.

I know that this doesn't involve cartilage like the supposed gun shot wound, but my ears were pierced several years ago. I have not worn earrings in years, but the hole is still there. Maybe I'm not eligible for miracles🤷
I had a cartilage piercing at the top of my ear. You can still see and feel where it was pierced (there is a bump under the skin that still hurts if you touch it after 20+ years).

I thought so too at first but the alternate possibility is that the flag was lowered to obstruct a shooter’s line of sight. The whole thing still has the feel of a photo op, but not willing to fall into the conspiracy theory abyss.
