The journey begins in the basement with the history of enslavement, then rises floor by floor until it ends in a jubilee of Black pop culture, art, and triumph. Trump better not lay a finger on this.

He will…..we didn’t enslave people…..and even if we did, it was for their own good. They learned trades….. Not to mention this entire museum celebrates black Americans. He call it DEI. I fucking hate this timeline….i fucking hate trump
One of the best museum I've ever visited. Extremely emotional.
I agree, but you can bet he will...
Remember, after you get through the hard part (and go into that underground fountain of contemplation), GO TO THE SWEET HOME CAFE to your left! It's the best Cafeteria in the Smithsonian. Even got a cookbook.
Yes! The fountain of contemplation is so moving.
Been there and you're correct, it's remarkable.
Something tells me that Trump has a few stooges he would like to install on the board of that museum, or else.
Take lots of pictures now.
Looks AMAZING! It’s on my bucket list to go there. Probably need to get there w my whole family really soon bf they tear it down like this admin tears down anything good. Thank you for posting this here (I’m not on that other platform)
and Humpty Trumpty said the museum was all negative about slavery most powerful and uplifting to me🤔 the powerful and positive side of black people that defeats his narrative about us🤬
This is amazing!!
I do regret not seeing the Emmett Till room. But my excuse is the line was always so long and I was emotionally exhausted by that time and I’m a bit of a coward. I have been about 3-4 times. Maybe one day I will have the courage.
I wanted to take my kids but DC is occupied and I feel somewhat safer in Maryland. It’s important that they learn about how we, as a country, have treated our fellow man in the past simply not being white or male or the “right” religion.
We will be going to the Frederick Douglass house in Highland Beach when it reopens.
Shitler cannot be allowed, to even come close, to blowing up this building of meaningful America History!
Great share Christopher.
It would be better for the Smithsonian to close their doors for the remainder of the Trump presidency than allow him to use the Institution's museums to whitewash American history.
I was able to tour this beautiful museum. It is so moving and educational. I hope they don’t touch this or any other of the museums. These belong to the people not the fascist
Trump is terrible! He doesn’t want America to tell the story of slavery but wants to tell the story of crimes in black communities. Remember this, Trump is the criminal who was found guilty on all 34 COUNTS!
All this DESPITE being oppressed on every front. No wonder white people are afraid.
Thanks for this. I'll never get to see it otherwise. I'll continue fighting every day in every possible way.
That is amazing thank you for sharing.
No disrespect. If that's your wife, you chose well.
Than you for sharing. Looks incredible and definitely on my list should I be in the area.
This is the one museum that I wished I had gotten to see before I left the DC area…thanks for sharing!
The food was OUTSTANDING there too. I’ve never had such delicious food in a cafeteria style setting.
So outstanding. The Capitol building cafeteria was like school cafeteria. I took a tray walked around and put the tray back. There should be a tour of the best museum cafeteria offerings.
We had lunch in the Capitol building and there was no comparison. I’ve heard the National Museum of the American Indian cafeteria is quite good as well.
The best!! Always went there no matter why we were in town.
🤘🤘🤘❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 Thanks.
My father was in charge of restoring the train car
How cool is that!
It was cool, because he’s based Out West, but the project was taking place over by the Appalachian side of the state I was living in so we got to visit more often. One morning on the national news I saw them placing the car into its exhibit so they could finish building the building,
surreal. Almost as weird as seeing his job on an episode of Extreme Trains, and reading what he was doing after Mom left him in a railroad magazine, that’s weird. Even weirder was my husband’s supervisor having a picture of him on his desk.
That is pretty weird.
I went to this museum nearly two years ago …. It was informative and heart-breaking . I left in tears … I am so happy and thankful for this museum . It was a real eye-opener and truly left me beyond disgusted at how the human race can be so incredibly cruel and disgraceful .
From someone who will probably never have the pleasure of visiting, a genuine thank you 🙏
Visiting IRL packs an emotional punch. I had to stop and collect myself. One of the most visceral museum experiences I've ever had. An amazing place, and then there's the architecture of a Ghanaian architect. Beautiful. www.adjaye.com/works/
I wish I could go.
Too bad there isn't a video like this for the Women's History building. Trump closed it down, before it could even open
Given the chance, he’ll turn it into The National Monster Truck Arena
He’ll eliminate everything but the top floor.
He will, and turn it into a shrine of himself....
you know he will. He’s a racist through and through.
Made me want to take train down but would never now.
Did you see Quincy on Netflix? Unfortunately I watched it (accidentally) on day Trump made his despicable comments. Amazing moving scenes of its opening.
I was there October 2021. It was spectacular! I will remember it forever. I was heartened to see my son’s Alma mater represented and learn about their contribution. I
I love that.
A few years ago, we went. It should be on everyone’s bucket list.
You know he will.
I just recently learned about how this journey is constructed and I really hope it’s still there whenever I can afford to visit
I am also really pissed that as a 50-something public school white student I only learned about the Tulsa massacre from a fucking TV show (Watchman for those who don’t know)
If you can, visit these Montgomery AL. legacysites.eji.org
I’ve been wanting to go to this museum for so long. I remember visiting DC when they were building it.
They will burn it to the ground before this is all over.
Been once. Wish I could make it back before… Well… If Dumald can’t DEFUND what he doesn’t like? Then he’ll name HIMSELF Chairman & defile/demolish it from the INSIDE.* SEE: The Kennedy Center/Smithsonian Museum

Trump is a well-known racist with a history of denigrating people of other races. It’s no surprise that he would target this wonderful resource because he wants people to be ignorant of the facts. He only believes in white exceptionalism and doesn’t want to make white people look bad. He’s an idiot.
I just got chills reading this!
Yeah, what are the odds? I'm guessing not good.
