Astoundingly lame. Companies like that are the ones that should be using real models, showing their actual products. It's basically false advertising. A complete mess. Lazy people, cutting too many corners.

Big corporations steal from innovators because the judicial system and USPTO are engineered to bankrupt people who try to assert their intellectual property rights. Soon, AI will be exempt from regulations because America is a kleptocracy.
Never bought a thing there Better choices at most Thrift Stores for a nice savings and recycling pre used garments just makes sense
Boycott the fascist billionaires.
Generating models so they don’t have to pay real ones…
That and the fact AI data centers are exponentially accelerating global warming and racist/classist environmental destruction
And being too cheap to pay talented people for their hard work in an authentic photo shoot.
well said...
The loss of intellectual property and JOBS!
Thank, shirt, you saved my life and my children. Shirt they god.
fashion industry = whore house #CapitalismKills #nowyouknow
Remember the movie “Looker” in the 80s? This is it.
A theft-based system that is going to decimate the water supply even further? That tracks. We can do better than capitalism.
Interesting, Chris. Fashion had knock-offs before… now they’re just digital.
Also why the fuck would anyone buy clothes when you they won't put them on real people? Would you buy clothes cartoon people are wearing?
Looking forward to the first lawsuit where someone notable has their image stolen for AI bullshit. And really, JCrew? How disappointing.
I work in the advertising industry and can confirm this is happening more often than people realize
AI uses water just to make a poster. If you ask AI a question it takes water. J.Crew can’t use a real artist? Not a good use of AI!
And, what’s even crazier is realizing if AI is in the news so much now, it’s already been seeping into so many facets of our lives for decades longer. Once something is released for mass public consumption and commerce, it’s because the rulers have already manipulated it to their own liking.
Bingo!
It’s not limited to fashion. Many consumer goods companies are experimenting with AI to generate lifestyle shots and mascots.
I agree 💯
Sue for copyright infringement. Class action if needed.
Yes! It is theft!!! AI is theft. All day long. All night long. All time. Always.
If only regulation was still a thing…
Yawn. People fear everything they don't understand. This is just one more. Waving a bundle of smouldering sage at a laserwriter. Raising your hand in front of the stampeding buffalo herd of technology just gets you run over. Started life over 3 times because of technology and it just gets better.
No, they are cheap and don't want to.psy people! Tell the truth it's not hard to figure out anyway.
It made it so much easier for me to shop when some sellers starting posting the height of the models. "Oh, wow. Those shorts will go down to my ankles."
I don't understand where the difference between AI generated content and photoshopped content is. It takes more time using photoshop without AI but the output is the same fake picture. I understand the intellectual property problem but know no solution.
Oops... I git'it.
It’s lazy, no?
Very. It’s also CHEAP.
Funny how the MAGA crowd doesn't get mad at this kind of exploitation that's legitimately bad.
AI is dangerous to humanity as a whole.
Why would a huge company like J.Crew have to STOOP to using Artificial Intelligence for photographs?
I suppose it's because AI promises speed and cost savings. However, in the long run, it risks eroding brand trust and depriving the very creatives who built the industry
Talk to Target and Nike about how fucking people over does wonders for your brand. Brands: they need us far more than we need them. Never let them forget it.
They aren’t doing well and haven’t been for years. But this really cheapens the brand. “Stooping low.”
It is also not copyrightable. And the energy use will kill the planet.
