I was going to buy a car, but I wanted to wait and see. Now, with rising food, and utility prices, I don't think I can afford it. Heck, all I wanted was a Civic!

I know right? My husband would be one of those not paying attention types. I on the other hand, told him this was coming. I believe my exact words were, “you miss Joe Biden now, don’t you?” 😏 I also said, you could have had Kamala and I guarantee you wouldn’t be worried about your pay checks.

Honestly, these past 10 years have been the most difficult and frustrating between us. Our first 20, we never discussed politics. We always agreed on humanity. Rights for women. Killing racism. I saw him as a John McCain, Republican. Those views have drastically changed since Trump. Now?

We argue about everything that Trump destroy’s. The lying statements he and his cult say repeatedly. What grossed me out the most is, I told him everything was going to shit, and he never agreed until it began affecting business at work, which affects his pay check. Its going to get worse

It must be frustrating seeing him change this way. He’d probably have balked then at half the things he’s defending now. For me, this issue with imagination and “I” thinking is where the right goes wrong, they cannot imagine anything bad happening, when it does, its only bad if it happens to them.

It is heartbreaking though that at a very personal family this is the impact of the current political developments. Very real families are dividing. I commend your will in this and that you keep to your own values. Its a brave thing to draw a line in the sand on such a personally impactful level.

Thank you. I truly appreciate it. If it was anyone else, I probably would have kicked them to the curb instantly. It’s almost like, Im fighting the circumstances for our country and everyone in it, as well as, fighting for my husband and marriage at the same time. It’s exhausting.

It must be really difficult. Have you read or watched anything on de-culting? He probably has invested a lot of his self into this making it hard to change course now, it hurts. And the group is demanding full loyalty pinning you as the enemy and/or someone that is just blind to the “real” world.

So tactics that work on ppl in cults might help somewhat. But not all can or want to be helped. The cult/group gives them a “sure” narrative off the world that gives a sense of certainty and righteousness. Its a hard struggle ❤️ have you found anyone near thats going through something similar?

Yesterday was the worst day market-wise so far just because of what Trump did to BLS. Too many bonds are linked to CPI inflation (TIPS & Series I savings bonds) and the Social Security (and fed employee) COLAs are made based on CPI, and BLS publishes CPI. The BLS scandal should be watched closely.

Almost exactly the same too. I wanted a 2025 Maverick hybrid (assembled in Mexico) for the model refresh but I went ahead and bought a ‘24 model hybrid the last week of November because I had an idea of what was coming (although I only expected a 10% tariff). Glad I did now and I saved $5k at least.

I’ve been trying to warn ppl. I had my mom replace her ancient appliances a few months ago and traded my car for a new one anticipating escalating costs. I’ve purchased extra paper and canned goods every grocery trip and have been hitting up the farmers market to freeze fresh produce. Be prepared.
