Vance is far more intelligent, but no one will follow him. He won't be a force multiplier in the way Trump's command of the Maga base has been. It's possible his tech bro overlords will try something overt, but I'm not convinced it will succeed without the 50 million rabid supporters.

Everyone is split on what happens when Trump dies (Vance is worse, it doesn't matter, we are still fucked, etc) but I don't think anyone is going to come storming the capital for Vance when he loses. No one is going to support Vance blindly. They can try but MAGA belongs to Trump. It's a cult.

The real concern around Vance is that he'll be used by the tech bros to bring about their dark enlightenment dystopian fantasies. Thankfully the ai isn't advanced enough to do 95% of work or kill 100% of dissidents (though the Russia/Ukraine war is making disturbing progress on the latter) yet.
