He can't. Far leftists aren't democrats. Democrats are a bunch of soft, centrists, throw-queers-under-the-bus cowards who are barely better than republicans. LEFTISTS on the other hand, are progressive, care about people, the environment, and actual social change. So it's impossible to be both.
